Inspection Services

Spectrum Laboratories provides a wide range of inspection services for importers.

As an independent entity, Spectrum’s dedicated teams of Hong Kong and China-based qualified inspectors can identify and prevent quality issues prior to shipment.

Spectrum offers tailor-made inspection plans covering:
• Initial factory evaluation
• Initial production check
• During production check
• Final random inspection
• Loading supervision

Initial Factory Evaluation

Spectrum Laboratories can arrange for the examination of a factory’s production capacities, machinery, management and quality control systems to verify that a supplier has the appropriate manufacturing facilities and systems to produce products that meet client quality requirements and standards. Spectrum’s experienced inspectors can also work with suppliers to ensure that they understand client specifications. Initial Production Check Before production begins, Spectrum can arrange for the assessment of all materials, components and production methods used, against client specifications and type samples.

During Production Check

Spectrum Laboratories can arrange for the first batch of finished products to be inspected for any defects, allowing inspectors to identify early problems and suggest corrections and improvements to the supplier, with status reports issued to the client.

Final Random Inspection

Final inspection takes place after production is completed and products are packed and ready for shipment. Spectrum can arrange for inspectors to select samples at random from the packed cartons, inspecting the consignment for quality, quantity, function, colour, size specifications and packing details. When the results are satisfactory, or within Acceptable Quality Levels, an inspection certificate is issued to enable supplier shipment of goods and client payment authorisation.

Loading Supervision

In addition to final random inspection, Spectrum can arrange for inspectors to be present at the loading site to check the quantity, markings and carton conditions of the consignment. Samples are randomly selected from the cartons for identification and for verification of correct goods.
